At Ukubebe, we believe it’s never too soon to introduce children to music. Children have a desire to find connections and make meaning in all they experience. Music brings everyone together and supports learning and development, like nothing else.

Since the beginning of time, children have not liked to study. They would much rather play, and if you have their interests at heart, you will let them learn while they play; they will find that what they have mastered is child’s play.

Musical Play

Musical play helps children to make sense of the world around them, as it is multi-sensory.

A shared musical experience between children and their parents or peers, is joyous, nurturing, and inspiring. It fosters and strengthens bonding and relationships.

Music education is not about creating musicians, or about simply developing music skills in children. Music unlocks a potential in every person that should be developed to its capacity.

Music is a universal language that unites us all. It crosses boundaries and creates a diverse and rich platform upon which we celebrate life itself.

Music also provides an outlet for creativity, self-expression, and individual uniqueness. We acknowledge a child’s ability to learn through their many languages of expression and communication.

Combining musical learning with an educational philosophy, we embrace a child’s whole development. Ukubebe creates opportunities for learning and discovery, designed to engage eager explorers and thinkers. Singing, playing instruments, moving to music and creating music, enable children to acquire musical skills, knowledge and concepts. Research shows these skills enhance learning in other developmental domains or curricular areas.
